What is Nizagara?
Nizagara is an oral drug used to restore erectile function in individuals with inability to achieve sufficient penile hardness for a satisfactory sexual intercourse. The drug belongs to the class of PDE5 inhibitors and contains sildenafil citrate as its active substance.
Nizagara provides a symptomatic treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), which means that it does not treat the condition itself, but improves the quality of life in patients suffering from this condition.
The drug is taken as needed; it starts acting ca 60 minutes after the intake, therefore it should be taken at least 1 hour before planned sexual intercourse, and continues to produce measurable effects during the ensuing 4-6 hours.
Nizagara is issued on prescription by a doctor (general practitioner or specialist) who will have judged the interest of the treatment and the absence of contraindication. Sexual intercourse is in fact a physical activity: you have to make sure you can walk briskly or climb two floors without stopping. In cases of cardiovascular disease, the prescribing physician assesses the potential cardiac risk of sexual activity and may seek the advice of a cardiologist. For on-demand medications (taken before intercourse), the dosage depends on the doctor’s instructions; the frequency of setting of the tablet adapts to the wishes of the patient.
The drug produces its effect between 30 minutes and two hours after taking, depending on the patient’s response; it is effective for a duration ranging from 4 to 6 hours.
Active substance – generic sildenafil review
Sildenafil, the principal medicinal component of Nizagara, is used in a large number of brand and generic drugs. The brand drug based on sildenafil is the universally recognized Viagra, while generically produced equivalents of the drug are produced by a large number of non-developer manufacturers (the names of equivalent generic drugs containing sildenafil in the same dosage as Nizagara can be found in the corresponding section further down this page).
Sildenafil was patented for the use in ED individuals in 1998 and became the first solution for male impotence administered per os. The substance has more than 20 patient-years of safe use in individuals across ethnicities, age groups and subsets of takers with different comorbid conditions.
Open-label, fixed-dose trials in volunteers aged between 40 and 70 resulted in 80.1% of takers reporting significant improvement in their erectile capacity when answering GEQ (General Efficacy Question).
Mechanism of action
Sildenafil is a drug belonging to the class of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. The pill facilitates and strengthens erections. PDE5 inhibitors are oral treatments given in case of erectile dysfunction, medically referred to as erectile dysfunction. They act by a vascular mechanism that increases the inflow of blood by dilating the vessels in the penis.
Taking the tablet alone, however, is not enough to cause an erection in itself: mental and / or physical stimulation is still needed to obtain it.
Among all the drugs of its class, sildenafil (Viagra) is the molecule best studied and the one for which we have the most hindsight. Today, there are generic sildenafil pills like Nizagara and its analogs. The differences between the four iPDE5 available in the US and Europe (there are two more available in Korea) are quite insignificant: we know that sildenafil gives good erections within an hour after taking (the action can last several hours), that vardenafil (Levitra) has a milder action, and that tadalafil (Cialis) has a longer duration of action. The most recent is avanafil (Spedra) which has the advantage of having a quick start (after 10 to 15 minutes). In practice, men often should try all the four to find what works best for them.
The minimal effective dose of Nizagara is 25mg, or ¼ of the pill. However, it is not found suitable for the majority of men affected with moderate to severe ED, and a step up in dose to sildenafil 50mg, or ½ of Nizagara tablet, is required. A full tablet of Nizagara produces the best effect in the majority of patients.
What to do if the chosen dose of Nizagara does not work? First of all, it must be ensured that there has not been an underdosing: it is sometimes necessary to take the maximum dosage to obtain a result. The dosages are not the same for the different drugs: in case of sildenafil, 100mg is a recommended maximal dose. It is considered that one must try up to 8 times (minimum 4) under strong excitation conditions before talking about failure. In this case, a more thorough assessment is needed to evaluate the testosterone level, the blood circulation in this region.
In the presence of other health conditions to consider, your prescriber may have to recommend you a smaller dose of Nizagara. The same goes for older citizens and individuals with milder form of male impotence.
Remember to always consult a certified healthcare provider before starting sildenafil therapy. There are a number of contraindications and pharmacological incompatibilities to consider; failure to do so can result in serious to fatal risks for your health.
Is Nizagara safe?
Is Nizagara as revolutionary beneficial as it sounds? In the care of many patients, yes! The fact that doctors are now more than reassured about the non-gravity of this drug and that scientists recognize a very wide field of effectiveness allows to use these molecules both as a test treatment and as an aid to diagnosis. In practice, when a man reacts positively to this drug, he starts to get reassured with every next success in regenerating his erectile function, and he understands that it will last, he gets out of his problematic thinking about sexual performance. Self-esteem goes up at once, morale too. The sexual satisfaction is better. And the sexual desire that might have weakened because of erectile dysfunction finds reassurance along with the firmness of the erection. In short, sexually, success is often a good therapy, if not the best. And let’s not forget that it is the function that creates the organ.
There are generally few contraindications to erection-promoting drugs like Nizagara unless you take nitrates. But if you are on a particular treatment or have a fragile health condition, caution requires seeking the advice of a doctor.
Among the side effects, note that these erection-promoting drugs can cause flushing (for example with a nose that gets clogged), with also consequences of nosebleeds, redness of the ears and several other adverse events that tend to become milder and totally resolve themselves as sildenafil therapy continues.
Seek emergency medical help if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction to Nizagara: redness; difficulty breathing swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.
Stop taking Nizagara and see a doctor immediately if you have: symptoms of a heart attack – chest pain or pressure, jaw or shoulder pain, nausea, sweating; sudden vision changes or vision loss; or a painful erection lasting more than 4 hours (prolonged erection can permanently damage the penis).
Call your doctor immediately if you have: a ringing in your ears, or a sudden loss of hearing; irregular heartbeat swelling of your hands, ankles or feet shortness of breath convulsions; or a feeling of vertigo as if you were going to faint.
Common side effects of Nizagara may include: flashing (heat, redness, tingling sensation); headache, dizziness vision disorders (blurred vision, changes in color vision); congested nose; muscle pain, back pain; or stomach upset.
Finally, it is preferable not to take Nizagara with similar drugs such as avanafil (Spedra), tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra). Tell your doctor about all the other medicines you take for erectile dysfunction.
Tell your doctor about any current medications you are starting or stopping, particularly: an antibiotic such as clarithromycin, erythromycin, or telithromycin; antifungal medicine such as ketoconazole or itraconazole; treatment to treat HIV / AIDS, such as atazanavir, indinavir, ritonavir, or saquinavir; or drugs to treat high blood pressure or a prostate disorder.
In any case, during the medical consultation for the prescription of Nizagara, tell the doctor an exhaustive list of the medicines you take, medical history that concerns you, allergies you suffer and hereditary diseases that affect your family.
Sildenafil and alcohol
Many men who take sildenafil also want a drink at the same time before taking action. However, the combination of both could actually have a negative impact on your ability to have an erection.
How much alcohol you can drink with Nizagara safely? Sildenafil is the most popular treatment for men with erectile dysfunction. However, alcohol is one of the reasons you may be suffering from male impotence. Although alcohol can help you overcome anxiety, it can also affect your sexual function.
Alcohol consumption decreases blood circulation in the penis, making it harder to have a hard erection. If you are taking Nizagara because you have had erection problems before, avoid alcohol. In addition, alcohol and Nizagara (and similar products based on sildenafil) may interact.
What is the effect if we mix the two? Nizagara and other erection medications reduce blood pressure, as well as alcohol. If your blood pressure gets too low, you may feel dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, headaches and even heart palpitations. Suffering from these side effects of Viagra is not only potentially dangerous, but it certainly will not improve your sexual performance.
How much to consume? A glass of wine does not seem to be dangerous and is an approved quantity of alcohol fixed by manufacturer’s leaflet to the drug.
On the other hand, it is important to limit your alcohol consumption while you are taking Viagra, but it is prudent to consume a small amount of alcohol.
According to a study published in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, no adverse effects between Nizagara and red wine were found. It must be understood that research on this effect is very limited.
The best is not to take any chances. Alcohol can relax you, but will certainly deteriorate your sexual performance. In fact, chronic alcohol consumption is an important cause of male impotence.
It is not only advisable to limit your alcohol intake while taking medication, it can also help you fight impotence and other sexual problems. A study published in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry found that 70% of men suffering from alcohol dependence also suffered from some form of sexual dysfunction. This included not only erectile problems, but also premature ejaculation, loss of libido, and difficulty reaching orgasm.
The study also found that men who consumed 3 or more units of alcohol per day were significantly more likely to have erection problems than men who did not drink. However, a follow-up study also found that in the 2-3 months following abstinence, study participants were no more likely to experience sexual problems than the control group of men who generally abstained from abstinence. to drink.
Too much alcohol also increases your risk of certain conditions that can lead to impotence, such as prostate problems and an abrupt drop in the levels of testosterone.
